HORROR MASKS
this unit is called artifact so we choose to make horror masks in order to do this we had study and research horror movies and the type of masks they use and the history of masks.

making my mask
1. sketched my plan out
2.made a slit from just above the eye and cross the eye to just below the eye
3.made the slit in the mouth a little bit bigger
4.created the paint for the base by mixing a little bit of blue with white paint
5.painted the mask using just a sponge for the effect on the face let the mask dry
6.using wire i stitched the slit using wire to give a stitched effect
7.after i stitched more around the face to stitch i made very small holes i then stitched through the holes using wire
8.painted the lips red
9.painted the eyes black then allowed it to dry
10.gave the mask some finishing touches by given the base of the mask a lick of paint
11.allowed the mask to dry by the heater

my evaluation
research : i enjoyed researching about different kinds of masks and what there used for .I enjoy history and to learn about the history of masks i really enjoyed it and found the information very useful when creating my mask .
studying horror : im not the greatest horror fan but i really think horror was a good subject to make a mask and first i didn't have any ideas what so ever until we started looking at horror mask and horror movies .i liked the idea of penny wise because that is what i truly find scary but i preferred the gothic masks and make up a lot more and i quite liked supernatural .
my design: and the beginning i wanted to do a slasher horror but i soon changed my mind and decided i would like my mask to be gothic .I wanted my mask gothic because i really liked the idea of dark black make up and red lips or vampires .my design started as some thing really simple but the more i looked at it the more i changed it .when we started creating our masks i soon found that it was starting to look a bit more of a supernatural mask with features of gothic .
how i could improve : to improve i think i should have spent some more time making look that little bit neater making sure the finishing touches were perfect .i think i could have done just a little bit more research on gothic and supernatural masks .i could have made my mask more safe to wear.
what went well: i am really happy with my mask and the design of it .the thing i like most would be stitching because i think thats what makes my mask look scary .
